Dr. Vinayak K

Dr. Vinayak K serves as the Principal of Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies, Bengaluru, and brings over two decades of expertise in legal education and academic leadership. A distinguished scholar, he holds a B.Com from Bangalore University, an LL.B from CBR National Law College under Kuvempu University, and an LL.M from Karnataka University, where he was awarded the Gold Medal and First Rank. He completed his Ph.D. at Kuvempu University with a research focus on terrorism risk insurance law.

Dr. Vinayak’s academic interests encompass a wide range of legal disciplines, including Labour Law, Insurance Law, Civil and Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, Evidence, Human Rights, and Intellectual Property Rights. He has published notable research and has been consistently recognized for academic excellence, earning university ranks and prestigious medals. His vast experience and commitment to the advancement of legal scholarship make him a valued member of the Avalon Journal’s Advisory Board.

Dr. Priya Sepaha

Dr. Priya Sepaha is the Dean of the School of Law & Public Policy at Avantika University, Ujjain, and the Founder-Director of Law Colloquy. With over 29 years of combined experience in academics and industry, she holds an MPhil in English, an LL.M. in Criminal Law, a Ph.D. in Law, and is UGC-NET qualified.

Dr. Sepaha has authored seven books and published numerous papers in national and international journals. She has presented her work at prestigious platforms across India and abroad, including Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton, Singapore, Thailand, Qatar, Japan, and Sri Lanka. She is also a member of various national and international advisory and editorial boards.

A highly sought-after speaker and trainer, she has conducted over forty workshops, seminars, and webinars for universities, law firms, and government departments, including the Women and Child Development Department and the Police and Medical sectors.

Her work has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Swami Vivekananda Excellence Award (2017), the National Teaching Excellence Award (2017), the Indian Education Award for Research in Education (2019), and the Nari Ratna Award (2024), among many others.

Prof. Michelle Manda

Professor Michelle Manda is a seasoned diplomat, international business consultant, and legal academic. She holds an LL.B. from the University of Zambia and an LL.M. in Constitutionalism and Human Rights from Cavendish University, Zambia. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Law at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Professor Manda has served in senior diplomatic roles, including Acting High Commissioner to Malaysia, and has extensive experience in foreign affairs, international humanitarian law, and conflict resolution. She has represented Zambia in various geopolitical departments and international forums, and holds certifications from institutions including the UN and the Red Cross.

Fluent in English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Chewa, she brings global insight and legal acumen to the Avalon Journal of Law’s Advisory Board.

Dr. Rebecca Bratspies

Rebecca Bratspies is a CUNY Law professor and the founding director of the Center for Urban Environmental Reform. A scholar of environmental justice and human rights, Rebecca has written scores of law review articles. Her book, Naming Gotham: The Villains, Rogues and Heroes Behind New York Place Names, won the NY Public Historians’ 2023 Excellence in Local History Award and the 2024 American Legacy Book Award for US History. Her co-authored textbook, Environmental Justice: Law, Policy and Regulation, is used in schools across the country. Rebecca is the creator (with artist Charlie LaGreca-Velasco) of the EPA Award-winning graphic novel series The Environmental Justice Chronicles.

Dr. Anil R Nair

After obtaining his B.A., LL.B. from the Mahatma Gandhi University, he did his LL.M. from the Cochin University of Science and Technology with specialization in Human Rights, Commercial Law and Jurisprudence. He topped the LL.M. examination of Cochin University and was also the recipient of the Dr. A.T. Markose Memorial Gold Medal, the K.C. Menon Memorial Endowment and the V.N. Padmanabha Pillai Memorial Prize. He did his doctoral studies at the Cochin University of Science & Technology on equitable access to education in India titled ‘Accessing Education: Legal Perspectives’.

He has taught law at the School of Legal Studies of Cochin University and at the Government Law College, Ernakulam. He has practised at the High Court of Kerala.

Meena Pershad Waghray

Meena Pershad Waghray is a lawyer, mediator, and the founder of OutofCourt.in, a platform dedicated to promoting mediation and dispute resolution through culturally relevant training and accessible practice models across India. A postgraduate of National Law School of India University (NLSIU), she gained practical experience at the Bangalore Mediation Centre and completed advanced ADR training from NALSAR University of Law. She is also certified in Civil and Commercial Mediation by the ADR-ODR International Group (London) under the guidance of Thomas Valenti.

She has trained nearly 3,000 individuals in mediation through programs designed for lawyers, professionals, and school students — including India’s first Young Mediators Training Program (Grades 9–11) and her signature introductory session, Taste of Mediation.

Her work combines global mediation theory with local sensibilities, utilizing tools such as simulation, film, and simplified pedagogy. Nominated for the Shamnad Basheer Prize (Agami, Ashoka University), she continues to champion grassroots mediation nationwide. She is also a volunteer faculty member with the Art of Living, where she teaches yoga and meditation.

Antonino Serra Cambaceres

Antonino Serra Cambaceres is a globally recognized expert in consumer protection law, with over three decades of experience in legal advocacy, policy development, and international regulatory frameworks. A graduate of the University of Buenos Aires, he has worked extensively in both governmental and international organizations to strengthen consumer rights across Latin America and beyond.

From 1990 to 1997, he served as Legal Coordinator at ADELCO, Argentina’s leading consumer organization, and later played a key role in designing and implementing Argentina’s National Consumer Arbitration System. For over two decades, he worked with Consumers International, eventually heading the Global Justice and Consumer Protection Programme and the Technical Standards Programme, shaping legal strategies and standards at a global level.

Mr. Cambaceres has advised institutions including UNCTAD, the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Union, and the OAS, and held regulatory roles within the City of Buenos Aires. A seasoned academic, he has taught postgraduate courses at the University of Buenos Aires and lectured at major universities across Latin America and Canada. His work combines deep legal expertise with a lifelong commitment to justice, access, and international collaboration in consumer law.

Dr. Anwesha Ghosh

Dr. Anwesha Ghosh is an Assistant Professor of Law at Amity Law School, Amity University Kolkata, and a recognized scholar in the fields of corporate law, governance, and gender rights. She holds a Ph.D. from the Central University of Punjab, where she was a UGC-sponsored Senior Research Fellow (SRF). Her doctoral research, titled “Legislative Governance Towards Gender Diversity in Indian Corporate Boards,” critically examines institutional factors and policy frameworks promoting inclusive corporate leadership.

Dr. Ghosh has previously served as faculty at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) and contributed to research projects at GNLU and KIIT University, addressing critical issues including HIV/AIDS in children and criminal justice responses to rape. She is the recipient of multiple academic honors, including University Gold Medals in both LL.B. and LL.M., and the Endowment Medal for excellence in Corporate and Commercial Law from NUSRL Ranchi.

Her work has been published in UGC CARE and Scopus-indexed journals, and her book An Introspection of Corporate Criminal Liability in India is available on Amazon and Flipkart. She has presented her research internationally, including in Thailand (2024) and Turkiye (2023), and received best paper awards at national conferences hosted by institutions like NLU Odisha and Jindal Global Law School.

With expertise in corporate governance, M&A, and financial regulation, Dr. Ghosh is deeply committed to advancing discourse on gender representation, workplace inclusion, and legal reform. She also brings extensive teaching experience at both LL.B. and LL.M. levels, alongside active participation as a moot judge and academic resource person.
