About

🔹 About the Journal

Avalon Journal of Law is a student-led, faculty-guided open-access legal journal that seeks to foster critical thought, inclusive scholarship, and interdisciplinary dialogue in the field of law. We are committed to publishing work that challenges conventional boundaries and explores law not only as a doctrine, but as a tool for justice, reform, and reflection.

Founded in 2022 and relaunched with a refined vision in 2024, Avalon serves as a platform for voices at every stage of the legal journey — students, scholars, practitioners, and interdisciplinary thinkers. We aim to create a space that embraces both academic rigor and accessibility, bringing legal research closer to the world it seems to impact.

🔹 Our Vision

We believe that law is not static — it evolves through inquiry, dissent and the courage to ask better questions. At Avalon, we support writing that brings new dimensions to legal thought, whether doctrinal, critical, empirical or theoretical.

🔹 What Makes Us Different

• Interdisciplinary Thinking: We welcome contributions that link law with technology, economics, sociology, psychology, and beyond.

• Access and Inclusion: No publication fees. No institutional barriers. Just merit, clarity and relevance.

• Global Outlook: Though based in India, our scope and submissions are global.

• Editorial Integrity: All submissions go through a careful editorial process rooted in fairness, transparency, and respect for academic voice.

🔹 Editorial Independence

The journal is independently managed by a dedicated editorial team under the guidance of an accomplished Advisory Board. Our structure empowers early-career researchers while upholding high academic standards.

🔹 Join the Journey

Avalon Journal of Law is more than a publication — it’s a growing movement of students and scholars who believe in law as a dynamic force for equity, reform, and imagination.

From the Managing Editor

When I began conceptualizing the Avalon Journal of Law, I didn’t yet have institutional backing or a formal team. What I did have was a belief — that legal scholarship could be more inclusive, more dynamic, and more relevant to the world beyond law school.

Avalon was born out of that belief: a space where voices at different stages of their journey — whether students, faculty, or practitioners — could engage with law critically, creatively, and courageously.

As a student myself, building a journal from the ground up has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. I’ve had the privilege of bringing together a diverse, accomplished editorial and advisory team that shares this vision. Together, we hope to foster a culture of thoughtful inquiry, accessible scholarship, and cross-disciplinary conversation.

This is just the beginning—and I thank every reader, contributor, and advisor who believes in what we’re building. Welcome to Avalon. Let’s explore every shade of justice, together.
