Aaliya Shyju – Founder & Managing Editor

B.COM LLB (HONS.), His Highness Maharaja’s Government Law College, Ernakulam.

Aaliya Shyju is the Founder & Managing Editor of Avalon Journal of Law. She is currently in her Fourth Year of B.COM LLB (HONS.) at Government Law College, Ernakulam, under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of criminal law, education policy, legal writing, and regulatory frameworks.

Her experience spans litigation research, policy-driven legal drafting, and academic publication. She has also served as Chief Editor of her College Union Blog and has contributed to building editorial collectives and student-led platforms.

Driven by a vision of bridging gaps in legal academia and accessibility, she founded Avalon Journal of Law to create a platform for emerging and established voices in law and interdisciplinary fields. She continues to oversee the journal’s editorial direction, faculty outreach, and academic integrity processes, and is passionate about fostering inclusive, student-led academic spaces.

Dr. Sadaf Fahim

Dr. Sadaf Fahim is an Editor at Avalon Journal of Law and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Law at Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, where she has been teaching since 2018. She holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Law from National Law University Delhi, and is an alumna of NLU Jodhpur and Aligarh Muslim University, where she completed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons).

A qualified lawyer with prior litigation experience, Dr. Fahim’s academic research explores the legal dimensions of emerging technologies, particularly the intersection of artificial intelligence and law. Her broader areas of interest include cyber law, fintech, blockchain, IPR, telecommunications law, Muslim personal law, and international humanitarian law.

She regularly engages in interdisciplinary legal research and contributes to ongoing discussions around the regulatory and ethical frameworks shaping the digital age.

Dr. M D Baharul Islam

Dr. Md. Baharul Islam is an Editor at Avalon Journal of Law. He holds a Ph.D. in International Space Law from Raiganj University, a Gold Medalist LL.M from Jaipur National University, and a B.A. LL.B (Hons.) from Tripura University. He has over nine years of academic experience, having taught various law subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across leading institutions in India.

Dr. Islam is currently affiliated with Alliance University, Bengaluru, where he supervises doctoral research and serves on several academic bodies, including the Board of Studies and Curriculum Review Committees. He is also an Individual Member of the International Institute of Space Law (IISL), Paris, and has authored numerous publications, including a book, several book chapters, and over nineteen journal articles.

His experience spans academic leadership, curriculum development, faculty training, and organizing national and international academic events. He has also held prior roles in legal practice, including two and a half years as an Advocate at the High Court of Tripura, and continues to contribute to the legal academic ecosystem through teaching, research, and institutional development.

Dr. Atul Alexander

Dr. Atul Alexander is an Editor at Avalon Journal of Law and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Law at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, where he also advises the WBNUJS Chapter of the International Law Students Association (ILSA). An alumnus of Loyola College and the School of Excellence in Law, he holds a PhD in International Law from The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU) and is a recipient of the UGC Junior Research Fellowship.

He has completed advanced diplomas in Law of the Sea from the Korean Maritime Institute and the Siracusa International Institute in Italy (both with scholarships), and has been shortlisted as a visiting research scholar at the Stockholm Center for International Law and the U.S. Naval War College.

His research has been published in leading international journals including the Asian Journal of International Law, International and Comparative Law Quarterly, Arab Law Quarterly, and the Chinese Journal of International Law, and has been cited by scholars including Judge James Crawford (ICJ) and Dire Tladi. He is also an experienced international moot judge and invited speaker, with affiliations to the AsianSIL, ESIL, and Singapore Academy of International Law. His areas of specialization include Public International Law, Diplomatic and Consular Law, and International Human Rights and Refugee Law.

Aashna Bhargava

Aashna Bhargava is an Editor at Avalon Journal of Law. A corporate lawyer turned academician, she brings over five years of experience in corporate legal practice, with core specialization in the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) and broader commercial law frameworks. With an academic grounding in Energy Law and Corporate Law, Aashna’s work spans both practice and interdisciplinary research.

Her academic interests include Alternative Dispute Resolution, Technology Law, Maritime Law, Intellectual Property, Medical Law, and Disability Law. She has contributed to research projects under the Ministry of MSME and supported initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the context of inclusivity for persons with disabilities.

Driven by a commitment to evidence-based legal reform and inclusive growth, Aashna’s scholarship reflects a vision for law as a tool for equitable and transformative societal impact.

Rudra Roshan

Rudra Roshan is an Assistant Professor of Law at Bihar Institute of Law, Patliputra University. He holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, and an LL.M. in Criminal Law from Amity University, Raipur, both with First Division honors. He is UGC-NET qualified with a 97.2 percentile and is enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi.

Rudra has published articles in the NLUO Human Rights Law Journal and the Journal of the Department of Legal Studies, among others. His academic interests span criminal law, constitutional law, and human rights. In addition to his teaching role, he has completed certifications and diplomas in areas such as intellectual property law, RTI, alternative dispute resolution, and anti-corruption laws.

He brings valuable editorial insight and a strong foundation in both legal research and practical experience to the Avalon Journal of Law.

Anusree S

Anusree S is an Assistant Professor at Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies, Bengaluru, and a PhD scholar at CMR University. She holds an LLM in Constitutional and Administrative Law from Christ University and an LLB from JSS Law College, Mysuru. She also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Arbitration Law from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru. Ajai K Reji

Ajai K Reji is an Associate Editor at Avalon Journal of Law. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Law at Mount Zion Law College, Pathanamthitta, and has previously taught at Nehru Academy of Law, Palakkad. He holds a BBA LL.B from Mar Gregorios College of Law, Trivandrum, and an LL.M in Corporate and Commercial Law from Christ University, Delhi NCR.

His academic work focuses on corporate regulation, white-collar crime, and the evolving interface between law and technology. He has published research on the implementation of money laundering laws in India and the dual role of technology in facilitating and combating financial crime. He has also undertaken certified coursework in Intellectual Property Rights from Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai, and continues to engage in research and conference participation across commercial and regulatory domains.

Sreehari A S

Sreehari A.S. is an Associate Editor at Avalon Journal of Law. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Law at VIT Chennai and holds an LL.M. in Constitutional and Criminal Law from the Central University of Kerala, where he graduated with third rank. He also holds an M.A. in Philosophy from IGNOU.

Sreehari serves as an Assistant Professor of Law at KMCT Law College and is a registered Advocate. He has presented and published papers at several national and international conferences, and previously served as an Associate Editor for his college magazine. His interests lie in constitutional law, criminal justice, and legal philosophy, with a strong commitment to academic research and legal education.

Aashia Shefi – Interdisciplinary Editor

Aashia Shefi is the Interdisciplinary Editor at Avalon Journal of Law. She holds a BSc in Psychology (Hons.) from Middlesex University, Dubai, and is currently pursuing her MSc in Clinical Psychology at Christ University, Bangalore.

With a strong foundation in behavioral sciences and academic writing, Aashia contributes an interdisciplinary lens to Avalon’s editorial process. Her work bridges psychology and law, supporting content curation, research assistance, and editorial insight on submissions that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries. She is passionate about integrating mental health perspectives into legal discourse and promoting accessible, inclusive scholarship.

R Shreyas Kumar – R&D Assistant

R Shreyas Kumar is a Research & Development Assistant at Avalon Journal of Law. A final-year law student based in Bangalore and originally from Kochi, Kerala, he brings diverse internship experience from the High Court of Kerala, the Kerala Crime Branch, and tax consultancy firms, gaining exposure to litigation, investigation, and financial compliance.

He has also served as a Research Assistant under the Ministry of Education, contributing to policy-oriented legal research and academic development. His interests lie at the intersection of taxation, criminal law, and education policy, and he is passionate about exploring emerging legal trends through interdisciplinary research and thematic analysis.

At Avalon, he contributes to the journal’s research planning and helps identify evolving areas of legal scholarship for upcoming issues.

Jidhin Justin – Law Content Editor

Jidhin Justin is a Fourth Year B.COM LLB (HONS.) Student at Government Law College, Ernakulam with a focused interest in legal research, public law, and legal education. He has contributed to student-led editorial initiatives and academic writing projects, and currently serves as a Law Content Editor at Avalon Journal of Law. His experience spans, legal writing, campus leadership, and civic engagement, with a growing interest in intersection of law, policy, and education reform. Jidhin is committed to making legal discourse more accessible and relevant to young learners and future practititoners.

Sreelakshmi V – Technical Assistant

Sreelakshmi V is a final-year B.Com LL.B (Hons.) student at the School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
She brings a strong mix of research, writing, and communication skills to the table, alongside her love for design and visual communication.
She currently serves as the Head of Design at her university’s MUN society and has contributed to a range of student events, including CUSAT’s Literature, Film, and Technical festivals. She also has experience with editorial layout, visual branding, event graphics, and coordinating campus-wide student-led creative efforts.
Her interests lie at the intersection of law, media, and creative expression, particularly corporate law, intellectual property, criminology, and legal communication.

Amritha Bharathan – Communications & Outreach Assistant

Amritha Bharathan is the Communications & Outreach Assistant at Avalon Journal of Law. She holds a BA in Psychology, Journalism, and English Literature from CMR University (2024) and is currently pursuing her post graduation in Victorian Literature, Art and Culture at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Amritha has previously worked with The Times of India, AutumnGrey, and Qshala, gaining hands-on experience in media, content strategy, and digital outreach. At Avalon, she supports the journal’s public communications, coordinates engagement initiatives, and helps develop its external identity across platforms.

Trush Shashank – Design & Layout Assistant

Trush Shashank is a Design and Layout Assistant at Avalon Journal of Law and a final-year B.Tech student in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Jain (Deemed-to-be) University. His work lies at the intersection of generative AI, machine learning, and creative innovation, with a focus on developing smart, efficient systems through emerging technologies.

An award-winning sound designer (International Kids Film Festival) and experienced video editor, he is proficient in DaVinci Resolve and the Adobe Suite, and actively contributes to technical and creative communities as Creative Lead at The Turing Club, Co-Lead at Google Developer Student Club FET-JU, and Design Head at GeeksforGeeks JU.He holds certifications in AI fundamentals (Microsoft), Python programming (Futurense Technologies), and various AI/ML platforms from Coursera and IBM. At Avalon, he supports content design, visual communication, and technological outreach with a dynamic blend of creative and technical skills.
