Student Editors & Volunteers Program

Avalon Journal of Law invites dedicated and detail-oriented students to join our team as Student Editors and Volunteers on a rolling basis.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from:

  • Law students at any stage of their academic journey
  • Students with a keen eye for editing, research, citation formatting, and legal writing
  • Individuals passionate about academic publishing and journal work

Note: All core editorial roles are currently filled. This intake is for supplementary student roles supporting the editorial board.

Roles & Responsibilities

Depending on the assignment and your skills, you may:

  • Assist in reviewing and proofreading submissions
  • Format citations (Bluebook/standard formats)
  • Conduct background legal research for upcoming themes
  • Help in footnote verification and plagiarism checks
  • Support publications and editorial cycles
  • Participate in content planning and communications

Time Commitment

We expect a minimum commitment of 2–3 hours per week for a duration of at least 2 months. The role is voluntary and remote, with flexible working hours.
